Costco Sprinkle Cookie Recipe
There are some things that Costco just does better than any of its competitors. Rotisserie chicken, baby wipes, and their white chocolate sprinkle cookies. With Costco’s trademark chewy cookie texture and a delicious buttery sugar base, these copycat Costco sprinkle cookies are worth celebrating.
Not only do Costco sprinkle cookies scream ‘fun’ they are delicious and perfect for every occasion. And now you can make them from home! You’re going to be amazed by how easy these are to mix up and, in my completely unbiased biased opinion, how they taste so much better, too. So, save yourself the trip to the warehouse (and the uneccesary purchases of snacks) and enjoy my white chocolate sprinkle cookies in your own kitchen.

Ingredients in Sprinkle Costco Cookies
- Salted butter softened – I prefer using salted butter. If you don’t have salted, you can use unsalted and add an extra pinch of salt to the dough.
- Granulated sugar – We just use granulated sugar here for the perfect sugar cookie base.
- Egg
- Light corn syrup – The corn syrup gives this cookie an ultra chewy texture like Costco’s cookies are known for.
- Vanilla extract
- Butter extract – I know it sounds weird, but trust me on the butter extract. It takes the flavor of this cookie to a whole new level!
- All-purpose flour
- Salt
- Baking soda
- White chocolate chips – Use your favorite brand of white chocolate chips or chop up a bar of white chocolate.
- Sprinkles – Use rainbow sprinkles, preferably ones without brown sprinkles. I find my bulk sprinkles either at Walmart or at my local grocery store’s bakery.

How to Make White Chocolate Sprinkle Cookies
- Preheat the oven to 350° F. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. Set aside.
- In the bowl of a stand mixer or with an electric hand mixer, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. It should take about 2 minutes.
- Scrape the sides and add in the egg, corn syrup, vanilla extract and butter extract. Mix until incorporated.
- Add the flour, salt and baking soda. Mix until a soft dough forms.
- Finally, fold in the white chocolate chips and sprinkles until evenly distributed.
- Scoop and portion out the dough into 1 tbsp portions, roll in a ball and arrange on a cookie sheet.
- Bake at 350° F for 7-9 min or until the cookies spread and flatten slightly. Pull them out before they turn brown.
- Enjoy! Eat warm or cold. But they will be at their chewiest after sitting in an airtight container for 12 hours.

Are there any variations I can try with these sprinkle cookies?
Yes! First, i recommend drizzling melted white chocolate across the top of the cookies. You can also add in different flavors of chocolate chips to add a little fun. To make these cookies more festive, you can also change up the colors of the sprinkles depending on the season.
Should I flatten the cookie dough balls before baking?
To achieve the perfect amount of chewiness, do not flatten your dough balls. Just leave them balled up and they will spread on their own.
How should I store these cookies?
Once cooled, store your cookies in an airtight container on the counter for 3-5 days! These cookies also freeze really well and can be stored in a resealable freezer bag for up to 3 months.

I wanted so much to bake these because they looked great and I have heard the cookies from Costco are delightful. I followed your recipe and I worried because the ingredients are listed in volume not weight. I live at a high altitude and I find the only way I can get cookies and cakes to work is to weigh the ingredients. I made this recipe as is and the cookies were inedible. I think the flour and leavening are probably way off as the cookies are about 1/16 inch thick and very hard. Is it possible for you to at least state the flour in weight rather than volume? I made the costco mini chocolate chip cookies and had the same inedible result. I love your cookie recipes for the most part, I have been able to save them but the Costco recipes were similarly unacceptable. I hate to throw away food – but in these 2 cookies I have thrown out the whole batch. I love your site and other cookies I have tried have worked very well but …
Hi Emme, I am working on adding metric measurements to all recipes (yay!). I recommend always baking a test cookie to make sure they are turning out how you want them to! If your cookies aren’t spreading, a quick fix is to flatten the dough balls slightly before baking or whack the pan against the counter after baking. You can also double check to make sure the oven temperature is correct with an external thermometer or reduce the amount of flour next time.
Can I add almond extract instead of butter extract?
Yes, you can!
YUM!!! I’ve never had the Costco version of these cookies so I can’t say how similar they are, but these were absolutely delicious and so very easy. Mine turned out a bit flatter than in the photo but they are perfectly chewy. 8 minutes was exactly right for me. Thank you for such a fun and simple cookie recipe!
Can I roll them into balls and refrigerate the dough for a couple of days? Would I need to get them to room temperature before baking.
Yes, you can refrigerate this dough! You can let them come up to room temperature and bake as normal or put them in the oven straight from the fridge and add an extra minute to baking time.
These were perfectly soft and chewy. I was wondering if these would work well for ice cream cookie sandwiches? They seem like the perfect texture.
Oh, yum, YES! You’ll have to let me know how they turn out.
Is there an alternative to butter extract? I cannot find it near me – I’m in Canada.
You can just omit and add a little extra vanilla.
I was a little nervous after reading the comments, but these cookies turned out absolutely perfect! The texture and taste are exactly what I was hoping for. I live at elevation in a very dry climate and I did not have to make any adjustments to the recipe. I wasn’t able to find butter extract so I used high quality salted butter and a little extra vanilla. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe! This will definitely be added to my rotation 🙂
