This Chocolate M&M Bar is a blast from the past!

Do you remember the ‘mmazing’ chocolate bars? If not, just imagine a chocolate bar stuffed full of mini m&m’s. Aside from being perfectly branded for giving as a gift (“have an mmazing birthday”), they were delicious. But since the M&M chocolate bar is discontinued, I’ve created my own version to squash my cravings.

My M&M  chocolate bar is better than the original, made with higher quality chocolate and packing even more m&m’s into every bite. Easy to make, you’re going to love these colorful and fun chocolate bars that are still perfect for every occasion – even without the catchy branding.

M&M Chocolate Bar ingredients

  • Chocolate chips or chopped chocolate – Use any flavor or brand of chocolate you’d like!
  • Mini m&m’s

How to make M&M Candy Bars

  1. Pour the mini m&ms into the chocolate bar mold and spread to cover the bottom of the mold. Set aside.
  2. Measure out the chocolate chips or chopped chocolate into a microwave safe bowl.
  3. Microwave for 30 seconds at 50% power and then stir. Repeat this step until almost all of the chocolate has been melted and then continue stirring until the last bits of chocolate melt.
  4. Pour over the m&m’s in the chocolate mold and spread smooth.
  5. Allow the chocolate to set up (either at room temperature or you can toss it in the freezer if you’d like it to set faster).
  6. Enjoy as is or chop and add to your favorite cookie recipe.

Can I use different molds for an M and M Candy Bar?

While I love the traditional candy bar mold, you can absolutely make these chocolate bars in any shape or size you’d like! You can easily alter these for holidays or themed parties depending on what mold you pop them into!

M&M Candy Bar alternatives

Once you have the candy bar mold, there is no stopping your creativity! Feel free to use this recipe with differing types of candies (or even just chopped up versions of other m&m’s)! This is a great easy and rewarding thing to “bake” with your kids!

MM Candy Bar FAQs

Did they discontinue the M&M candy bar?

Here’s the short of the long – the M&M candy bar was discontinued and then brought back under a different name – BUT availability of the M&M candy bars varies by region and store. So while it is still in circulation, it can be hard to track one down!

What does M&M stand for?

Okay, I had to do a little research for this one because I didn’t know! M&M stands for “Mars & Murrie,” which represent the last names of the candy’s creators: Forrest Mars and Bruce Murrie. Kind of cool!
