I’m OBSESSED with Cookie Butter Puppy Chow

Guys, why did we not think of this before??? Cookie butter puppy chow has now become my entire personality. It is, in a word, unbelievable. This recipe uses the same methods we use to make regular puppy chow – coating crispy chex cereal in chocolate, a specialty butter and powdered sugar. But instead of using milk chocolate and peanut butter, we swap them out for white chocolate and cookie butter. And oh my word, you’ll never want it any other way.

If you want to minimize mess while making this, you can toss the final mixture into a bag before adding the powdered sugar. This will allow you to get everything nice and sugary without covering your whole kitchen with a white dust.

What You’ll Need to Make This Puppy Chow

  • Rice chex cereal
  • White chocolate chips – You can use any brand you’d like. I typically use Ghirardelli.
  • Cookie butter – If you’re feeling fancy, you can make your own cookie butter with my homemade cookie butter recipe. If not, store bought will work perfectly.
  • Butter – I always use salted butter, but that’s not a requirement.
  • Powdered sugar

How to make Cookie Butter Puppy Chow

  1. Measure out the Chex cereal into a large bowl. Set aside.
  2. In a medium sized microwave safe bowl, add the white chocolate chips, cookie butter and butter. Microwave for a total of 1 minute, stirring at the 30 second mark. Stir until smooth.
  3. Pour the cookie butter mixture into the bowl with the cereal. Stir until the cereal is evenly coated.
  4. Sprinkle the powdered sugar onto the coated cereal and toss to cover.
  5. Pour the cereal onto a large cookie sheet to dry. Your completed puppy chow will stay fresh in an airtight container for 3-4 days.
  6. Enjoy!
