Chocolate Covered Pretzel Recipe
Guys, my addiction to chocolate covered pretzels is ongoing and may be inching toward obsessive heights. But man, you will be hard pressed to find a snack (dessert?) that is a better combination of salty and sweet!
These bad boys are a breeze to whip up and cost a fraction of what you’d pay at the store for a small bag of Flipz chocolate covered pretzels. And yeah, in case you were wondering, I do think they taste better, too. I love to make these with my kids and eat them as a special movie night snack (or a mom cleaning the kitchen snack)! I promise you’re going to love them.

Ingredients for Chocolate Covered Pretzels
- Pretzels – You can technically use any pretzel shape you’d like, but I like the classic!
- Ghirardelli milk chocolate melting wafers – You can also use another brand of milk chocolate melting wafers if you’d prefer. If you really want to switch things up, you can also use dark or white chocolate melting wafers instead.
How to Make Chocolate Covered Pretzels
- Following the instructions on the package, melt your chocolate wafers completely in a large bowl.
- Working with about 5 pretzels at a time, cover your pretzels in the chocolate and then remove each pretzel individually, shaking off the excess chocolate and then arranging on a parchment lined cookie sheet.
- Repeat until all pretzels have been coated in chocolate.
- Allow the chocolate to set up at room temperature or in the fridge if you’d like to speed up the process. Hint, I usually like to speed up the process.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week.

How should I store homemade chocolate covered pretzels?
Once the chocolate on your pretzels has set up, store in an airtight container on the counter for up to 1 week. But trust me, I don’t think they’ll last that long.
Can I add toppings to my chocolate covered pretzels?
You absolutely can! Sometimes I like to drizzle on peanut butter or melt dark or white chocolate for the top! If you want to get really fancy, you can also sprinkle on crushed up oreos, shredded coconut, or flaky sea salt after you’ve dipped the pretzels and they’re still wet.

this looks great but there’s no instructions on technique. it says to ‘shake’ off the chocolate. does that mean we are dipping our hands in as well?
Hi Carolyn! I like to dip my pretzels using a fork and give it a gentle tap to get rid of excess chocolate and it works pretty well!
