Rolo Pretzel Recipe

I typically have a fair amount of self-control when it comes to treats. But these pretzel turtle bites are a whole other thing. I CANNOT resist them (and honestly, I really don’t want to!) These rolo pretzels are the easiest treat you will make all season! If you’re looking for a dessert that will give you the maximum bang for your effort, this turtle candy recipe is it. You seriously will not believe how easy it is! It genuinely feels a little criminal for something SO good to be SO easy.

My rolo pretzel recipe is the perfect treat to make with your little kids! Your kiddos will love helping out and you’ll love the minimal mess. It’s truly a win-win!  Bonus – if your kids are slightly older, they’ll even be able to do this by themselves, meaning you can enjoy this pretzel rolo pecan treat without lifting a finger.

Ingredients needed for Pretzel Turtles

  • Pretzels – Use any shape/size pretzel you’d like (except for pretzel sticks).
  • Caramel dove chocolate squares, unwrapped – You can use Rolos or caramel kisses instead if you’d prefer!
  • Pecans – Use pecan halves!

How to Make Rolo Pretzels

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°f (82°c)
  2. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  3. Arrange the pretzels in a single layer on the cookie sheet.
  4. Top each pretzel with an unwrapped dove caramel square
  5. Place in the preheated oven and bake for 5 minutes.
  6. Immediately after taking them out of the oven, press a pecan half into the top of the dove caramel square, pressing down gently.
  7. Allow the treats to cool completely (you can toss the pan in the fridge to speed up this process) before serving.
  8. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Enjoy!

How should I store my rolo pretzels?

Store your cooled pretzel turtles in an airtight container on the counter for up to 3 days! (Although, I seriously doubt they will last that long!!)

Can I switch up the ingredients?

Yep, you absolutely can! Play around with the pretzel shape and what type of chocolate caramel candy you’d like to top it with. You can even put an m&m on top instead of a pecan – but of course then it wouldn’t be a turtle candy anymore.
