Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat and set aside.
In the bowl of a stand mixer or with an electric hand mixer, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light in color and fluffy in texture. This will take about 2 minutes.
1 cup (222g) salted butter, 1 1/4 cups (288g) granulated sugar
Scrape the sides and mix in the egg, vanilla, butter flavoring and canola oil until fully incorporated.
1 egg, 1 tsp vanilla extract, 1/2 tsp butter flavoring, 1 Tbsp canola oil
Next, add the flour, baking soda and salt. Mix until a soft dough forms.
2 1/2 cups (380g) all-purpose flour, 1/2 tsp baking soda, 1/2 tsp salt
Divide the dough into 3 Tbsp portions and roll into a ball and arrange on the prepared cookie sheet. (I use my #24 cookie scoop)!
Bake at 350°F (180°C) for 12-14 minutes.
Allow the cookies to cool on the pan and enjoy!
