Chocolate Chip Walnut Cookies

Combining gooey chocolate with crunchy nuts, these Chocolate Chip Walnut Cookies are an irresistible take on an old-fashioned classic.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup salted butter softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 heaping tsp salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°.
  • In the bowl of a stand mixer or with an electric hand mixer, combine the butter and sugars creaming until the mixture is light in color and fluffy in texture.
  • Add the egg and vanilla. Mix until well combined.
  • Add the flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Mix until a soft dough forms.
  • Add in the chocolate chips and walnuts, mixing until evenly distributed.
  • Portion out the dough to your desired size, for small cookies use 1 1/2 tbsp of dough (#40 scoop) and for larger cookies, use 3 tbsp of dough (# 24 scoop). I like to roll my dough into a ball, break the dough in half, turn the dough so the rough edges are facing up and then squish the two halves back together to get texture on the top of my cookies. This is optional.
  • Arrange on a parchment or silicone lined cookie sheet.Bake at 375° F until the cookies have spread and the edges and tops are golden brown. For the small cookies, 6-8 minutes, for the large cookies 8-10 minutes.
  • Allow the cookies to cool completely on the pan.
