Yes, you can use all butter instead of half butter/half margarine in this recipe. The texture will be altered slightly, but it will still taste delicious.

Oh yay! So glad you love the recipes. You can use all butter, it will just slightly impact the final texture of the cookies.

I've made several of your cookie recipes (Birthday Sprinkle Cookies, Snickerdoodles, Cookies and Cream, etc.) They always turn out perfect!!!
I am looking at the Valentine Sprinkle Cookie recipe. Can you use all butter instead of half butter and half margarine or will the cookies spread too much?
Thank you.

Just made these cookies, soft yet slightly crunchy! I omitted the margarine and used butter, flavor is delicious! Had a little issue with the sprinkles not wanting to stick to the dough, so I mixed them into the dough but once the dough kind of warmed up I was able to roll them around in sprinkles(all the sprinkles here!). I’ll be making these again.

I have tried several of your cookie recipes. They always turn out GREAT! In the Soft Sprinkle Sugar Cookie can you substitute butter for the stick of butter?
Thank you .

It took me 2 tries (and a trip to 3 different stores to find more sprinkles) to get these cookies right, but it was absolutely worth it! My screw up? I initially bought and Imperial 50% vegetable oil spread rather than margarine with 80% vegetable oil. D'oh! They wouldn't bake. In round 2 (with the "right" margarine), I used your weight measurement for flour -- different from how I measure King Arthur AP flour (120 g/cup) -- and the dough was too dry for sprinkles to stick. I couldn't believe it. A little spritz of water on my hands while rolling, and all was well. In the end, these cookies are flavorful and the texture is absolutely perfect! This is the third recipe of yours I've tried in 2023, and I cannot wait to try another!
