I’m not sure what went wrong for me, I’ve baked more complicated things, but I found the dough cracked whenever I tried to roll it (even after adding water). As a result all my cookies have cracks all over them, nowhere near the neat finish in the photos

Hi making these now, and I uncovered a small mistake. You call for baking powder in multiple places in the recipe and the description. However in the “how to make Christmas sugar cookies” where you break it down in 19 steps, you accidentally call it baking soda in step 4. This is also the case in the printer version. As I was reading through the instructions and mixing my ingredients, I noticed step 4 calls for soda, but I had the powder out.
Can’t wait to try these!

I’m not sure what happened, I followed this recipe exactly as it is written. My cookies spread and and are kinda flimsy. They taste great, they just don’t look like yours.

These are fabulous sugar cut-out cookies! The dough is quick and easy to make, (crucial when littles are helping!), and the cookie is a nice balance of buttery and sweet. The cookie is not too sweet, which feels perfect to then add icing on top. A big win, I’m printing this to keep as our annual holiday cut-out recipe!
